{"id":2538,"date":"2023-02-24T15:36:51","date_gmt":"2023-02-24T07:36:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ems.cohesionfreight.com.hk:8080\/wordpress\/?p=2538"},"modified":"2023-02-27T09:09:47","modified_gmt":"2023-02-27T01:09:47","slug":"msc-services-expansion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ems.cohesionfreight.com.hk:8080\/wordpress\/msc-services-expansion\/","title":{"rendered":"MSC Services Expansion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>MSC expanding standalone services to grow its network outside 2M<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>THE Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is focused on expanding its standalone services outside the 2M Alliance, reports London&#8217;s Loadstar.<\/p>\n<p>The carrier has tapped into the Indian export market to the US with an expansion of its Sentosa loop, which offers a connection of Indian ports of Mundra and Nhava Sheva to Long Beach and Oakland.<\/p>\n<p>MSC stated the enhanced service will deploy twelve 11,500 to 16,650 TEU vessels, instead of the current seven.<\/p>\n<p>MSC also announced it was relaunching its Dragon service, from Asia to the Mediterranean. It said the Dragon service would connect Asia to Israel, Italy, and the south of France, and &#8220;offer the fastest transit times into the Mediterranean&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The carrier has not nominated vessels that will operate the revised loop, which is to start from Shanghai on March 15 and will include direct calls at Ashdod and Naples.<\/p>\n<p>Vespucci Maritime consultant CEO Lars Jensen stated it appeared to be &#8220;the first divergence&#8221; between the 2M carriers since the announcement last month of the parting in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I expect to see continued divergence and potentially an earlier formal breakup, but for now the timing is 2025,&#8221; said Mr Jensen.<\/p>\n<p>Source: Hong Kong Shipping Gazette<\/p>\n<p><strong>MSC TransPacific services update Amberjack &amp; Emerald<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting in May, the MSC Amberjack service will operate on the following rotation, connecting south and central China and South Korea to the U.S. east coast:<\/p>\n<p>Qingdao \u2013 Ningbo \u2013 Shanghai \u2013 Busan \u2013 Panama Canal \u2013 Kingston \u2013 Charleston \u2013 Savannah \u2013 Norfolk \u2013 Kingston \u2013 Panama Canal \u2013 Busan \u2013 Qingdao<\/p>\n<p>Calls at Jacksonville and Wilmington will be removed and switched to the Emerald service (see below), starting with the vessel MOUNT EVEREST, ETA Qingdao on 6 May.<\/p>\n<p>Also from May, the Emerald service will follow a new rotation, removing Norfolk, but adding Jacksonville and Wilmington to compensate for the removal of these ports on the Amberjack service: Xiamen \u2013 Yantian \u2013 Shanghai \u2013 Busan \u2013 Panama &#8211; Canal \u2013 Cristobal \u2013 Savannah \u2013 Jacksonville \u2013 Wilmington \u2013 New York \u2013 Suez Canal<\/p>\n<p>Source: AJOT.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MSC expanding standalone services to grow its network outside 2M THE Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) is focused on expanding its standalone services outside the 2M Alliance, reports London&#8217;s Loadstar.
